1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Campus Talk application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Eligibility
Campus Talk is designed for university and college students. By using the App, you represent that you are:
- At least 17 years of age
- A current or former student at a recognized university or college
- Capable of entering into a legally binding agreement
3. Account Registration
To use Campus Talk, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
- Select your correct university affiliation
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
4. User Conduct
You agree not to use Campus Talk to:
- Post, share, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Engage in bullying, intimidation, or harassment of any kind
- Share sexually explicit content or material involving minors
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Spam, phish, or distribute malware
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law
- Collect or store personal data about other users without their consent
- Use the platform for commercial advertising without authorization
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise the security of the App
5. User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you post on Campus Talk. By posting content, you grant Campus Talk a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the App for the purpose of operating the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines without prior notice.
6. Marketplace
Campus Talk provides a marketplace feature for students to buy and sell items. We are not a party to any transaction between users. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed. Users engage in marketplace transactions at their own risk.
7. Intellectual Property
The Campus Talk app, including its design, logos, features, and code, is the intellectual property of Campus Talk and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without prior written consent.
8. Privacy
Your use of Campus Talk is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
9. Advertisements
Campus Talk displays advertisements through Google AdMob. By using the App, you consent to the display of advertisements. Ad content is provided by third-party advertisers and does not represent the views or endorsements of Campus Talk.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms, is harmful to other users, or is otherwise inappropriate. You may also delete your account at any time through our Account Deletion page.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
Campus Talk is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Campus Talk and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Campus Talk, its developers, and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Kenya.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
